Ever since I was young, I have been fascinated by topics such as happiness, mental well-being, meaning, self-healing and alternative medicine. After studying Psychology and my experience in mental health care, I noticed that I was missing something in the bigger picture. I noticed that there was a need for a broader approach. In addition, I believe that there is great power in the human connection between client and therapist. I therefore find it important to open myself up in the therapeutic role and to work from empathy, life experience and connection.
All these reasons have led me to decide to start my own practice. As a holistic therapist, I see myself as a mirror and catalyst. I am happy to help you find the imbalance that prevents you from (yet) living fully from your strength and happiness. From my background in psychology, but especially as a human being, I help you find your limiting experiences/beliefs and I am happy to stand next to you in the process of discovery and healing.
I combine various techniques from my academic background in psychology with alternative forms of therapy. I strongly believe in the holistic approach, where body, mind and soul are seen as one whole. This integrative approach allows us to use a wide range of tools and techniques.
In addition to the knowledge and skills acquired as a professional, I like to work based on who I am as a person. I know what it is like to walk the path of self-healing. A path in which you can look at everything old, let go and create a new reality for yourself. Self-healing and autonomy is a common thread in all processes at Holistic Therapy Rotterdam.
I am convinced that we can heal ourselves. However, this does not mean that we have to do this alone. My mission is to connect people with their own powerful, self-healing capacity and to support them in creating a life in which they can be their authentic, happy selves.
Our lives consist of a sum of experiences. We create persuasion from these experiences. Most of us come to a point where these (unconscious) beliefs get in our way. Together we will look for the core.
In holistic therapy, the role of our body plays a major role. To ensure that healing also takes place at this level, we use breathing exercises, movement and awareness of what is going on in your body.
EMDR is a method that is widely used to help people process their unpleasant experiences. By stimulating the brain in this way, processing is initiated. This can reduce emotional stress and help you deal with your trauma better. We see that EMDR helps to achieve great results in a relatively short time.
From holistic therapy we recognize that our body consists of energy. An imbalance in this energy may cause blockages and problems. Through meditation and reiki, for example, we can work on restoring this balance.
